Stephen Hardy

I was interested in Horses from a young age and I am still a keen horseman and I have competed successfully on many horses in all disciplines - dressage, show jumping, team chasing and eventing.

Eventing is my first love and I rode at intermediate level as a youth, I also enjoy doing all the riding club activities and I have represented my home club of Bedlington & Blyth Riding Club as well as the Bay Riding Club and South Durham Saddle club at various championships.

My current horse Bazil, posh name Lorton Imprint, (pictured right) he is 17hh and a 3/4 thoroughbred bay gelding by the stallion Lorton Footprint. He is a lovely character and is always eager to please.

We had a successful  string of seasons together competing at Pre Novice, although I  sill own Basil, I have passed the ride onto promising young event rider  Laura Fenwick. They had a very successful first season competing at Novice level in 2008 and qualified for the CCI*  at Blair Castle International Horse Trials, where they finished in the top 20. They have started the 2009 season with a 7th place at Lincoln and hope to compete at intermediate level this year.

I have been fortunate to be given a new horse (see below) to bring on. Paisley is rising 6,  by Stanhopes Diddycoy and was bred by Anne Davison. Paisley was successfully shown in hand as a youngster and is now competing at  Prelim dressage and trotting over poles. Watch this space!
